Mike Purcell

"I'm a Nashville native who grew up just south of town in the Brentwood/Franklin area of Williamson county. I've worked in the production side of the music industry since 1994. In 2000, I setup a room at County Q Productions in Berry Hill and have made that my home base since then. In the early 2000's, I was working primarily as a mastering engineer, as well as being active in the local rock scene playing guitar in bands. In that era, I found a company, Digital Audio Miracles that developed software for file transfer between Radar Hard Disk Recorders and ProTools. By 2005, I was mixing projects full-time and spent a couple years mixing heavily. In 2012, I began mixing post production audio for TV and Film and began to develop a passion for video production. In 2013, I founded 6minor Films and developed a series called "Songwriter" which ultimately found it's way to Hulu for a period of time. Around that same time, I began finding and producing bands - I'd see a band play a great show, then talk them into recording a song with me. One band led to another and I made a lot of great friends and made a lot of great music.

Currently, I spend time mixing and mastering a variety of projects across all genres. I'm also an adjunct instructor at Nashville State Community College (Live Sound, Mixing, Mastering & Music Production courses.) My passion, however, is producing band projects, both audio and video. I'm always looking for new artists to work with.

I also play guitar and write music in 2 band projects, Kettleflower and Hitman Louie - all albums on these projects are available on the Music page.
